What is City Ninja?
City Ninja is an indoor obstacle course made up of unique inflatable and freestanding challenges. We will be visiting towns and cities around the UK during the autumn and winter of 2018/19 giving would-be ninjas a chance to try their skills.
Who can take part?
Anyone over 1.3m tall is welcome to sign up and attempt the obstacles. City Ninja is a physically demanding activity, so there are some restrictions that we ask participants to be aware of and comply with. It is a condition of entry that you confirm you have read and accept our Terms and Conditions before you buy your tickets for the event. Please read the full Terms and Conditions before you sign up, as we’re not able to offer refunds.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
In our test events children aged 8 and over have successfully completed the course. We recommend that younger ninjas are accompanied around the course by an adult (minimum 1 adult to 4 children). We ask that ninjas aged up to 16 years of age are accompanied to the event by a responsible adult who remains at the venue and provides emergency contact details.
My friends and I want to take part together at the same time – is this possible?
Please book as a group so that you can all start in the same time slot – you will also benefit from the group ticket price! Once you get to the start let our Event Staff know you are a group, and we will do our best to send you off together.
What does my entry fee include?
The entry price includes an hour on the course, and your City Ninja bandana. You can attempt the obstacles as many times as you can within your time slot. When you register on the day you’ll be given a colour-coded wristband which corresponds to your time slot, so if you want to leave the hall and take a break or get some refreshments you will be able to get back on the course again.
Your entry fee doesn’t include any car parking fees charged by the venue.
What should I wear?
Clothes: We recommend you go for comfort and breathability, so sportswear – e.g. vest and shorts is perfect. You will be running, jumping, climbing and crawling and you will get hot! We don’t recommend that you wear jeans. We advise you to bring a change of clothes as you might want to freshen up after your session has ended. You may find gloves useful for some obstacles. Gloves and technical t-shirts will be on sale at the event.
Footwear: You should wear trainers. You will not be allowed on the course in socks, bare feet, flip flops, Crocs or any combination of the above.
If you have long hair please tie it back (why not use your bandana!). Please do not wear jewellery, belts or scarves.
What can I bring on the course?
Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to your property whilst you are taking part in City Ninja.
All you need in the hall is a towel and a bottle of water!
Please store any other belongs in the changing rooms at the venue or with your spectators. Please check the venue information for details of the facilities available.
You cannot use any hand-held device (eg camera, smart phone, selfie sticks) whilst on the course. If you want to use an activity tracker and this is on your phone please use an arm sleeve.
If you want to use a Go Pro it must be chest-mounted.
Can I turn up and pay on the day?
We recommend you book your slot in advance, as numbers for each start wave are limited. At some venues it may be possible to sign up on the day, but we cannot guarantee this at every venue. For latest updates and availability check our Facebook page or the event information for your chosen venue.
Do I need to be fit to take part?
Everyone has different abilities and levels of fitness. City Ninja is designed to be a fun experience for all, however the course does require a degree of fitness, agility, strength and technique.
By booking you are deeming yourself (and those in your group if you are booking on behalf of others), as being fit to take part and you assume the risks of doing so. Everyone takes part at their own risk, and although following the strict Health & Safety standards and rules minimises these risks they cannot be completely eliminated.
The challenge is not recommended for anyone with medical conditions such as (but not limited to): heart problems, breathing difficulties/conditions, back, neck, joint, knee and ankle issues and any fractures or broken bones – either current or pre-existing or any other medical condition that could be aggravated by taking part. It is also not suitable for anyone who is or suspects they could be pregnant.
Please refer to our full terms and conditions.
Can I change my start time or transfer my booking to someone else?
If things change and you need to change any of the details of your booking please contact us either via the event booking page (details will be on your confirmation email), by completing our online contact form or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Although entries will usually be transferable we won’t refund any difference in the price, e.g. between adult and child prices.
Can I buy extra time on the course?
If an hour isn’t sufficient on the day and there are spaces available in later waves then yes, you can sign up again! Just visit the Registration Desk and they will be able to get you signed up.
My friends and family want to come along and watch – is that possible?
Spectators are welcome to attend, free of charge. Arrangements do vary depending on the venue – spectators will usually be on a balcony overlooking the course. Due to Health & Safety requirements it will not be possible for spectators to stand alongside the course/in the main arena.
Will there be food and drink available?
Food and drink options will vary from one venue to another, and range from vending machines to cafes. Please check the event information for your chosen location. We suggest you bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated whilst you’re on the course.
Please be aware: Although some venues may have a bar which will be open during your session you will not be permitted to use the City Ninja course if you have consumed any alcohol, so please save having a celebratory drink until after your session.
